My Name Is Khan

The movie My Name is Khan is a Sharukh Khan movie that depicts how an innocent muslim becomes a target of hate after the 9/11. The story tells how he proves that he is a muslim but not a terrorist. This movie has a strong message and the story has been recieved pretty well in most parts of India. Due to the subject of the film, some conservative political parties are demonstrating against and preventing the screening of this movie to get some political mileage. The people have started ignoring these parties as their only aim is to spread violence that hurts the common person on the street. However, the movie  is a love story between a muslim who falls in love with a hindu girl.

My Name Is Khan, that is also known using the acronym MNIK in India, is not the first movie based on the theme, however this is a nice attempt by Karan Johar to send a message once again that can help people to have a better understanding of our relationships with each other. It is not right to assume that every muslim might be a terrorist. The world has changed to due to some fanatics who happen to be muslims and even though these terrorists tried to cause harm to non-muslims, the maximum people who have suffered after 9/11 are muslims.

Sharukh Khan has done justice to his role in My Name Is Khan. Sharukh has evolved as a mature actor now and is pretty comfortable in the lead role in MNIK. Kajol as always is wonderful in her role.

At home, in India, the conservative political party in Mumbai tried to disrupt the screenings of My Name Is Khan in Mumbai, but the government has arrested many of the activists for causing disturbance. The tensions in the city due to the opposition by the fanatic political parties have kept some of the movie enthusiasts out of the cinema halls.

Since the movie has just been released abroad, the reviews of the people are coming in slowly.
