The Main Highlights of The 55th Filmfare Awards

The Filmfare Awards are probably the first ones that started recognizing the accomplishments of the Bollywood stars and movies. The Filmfare Award in the form of a black statue of a lady is coveted by even the most senior personalities in Bollywood. These awards are presented in many categories every year.

 

The 55th Idea Filmfare Awards ceremony was held at Yashraj Studios in Mumbai on February 27, 2010.

 

Best Actor (Female)

Vidya Balan received the Filmfare Award for the Best Actor (Female) for her role in the movie “Paa”. The gorgeous Vidya Balan's acting has been widely acclaimed in this movie and was a hot favorite at the 55th Idea Filmfare Awards in Mumbai. Vidya has proved that if given the right role she can show her true potential.

Best Music Director

AR Rahman bagged the Filmfare Award for the Best Music Director for his work in the movie Delhi 6. AR Rahman is one of the finest musicians in the world who still keeps himself on the ground. His humility makes even more worthy of the many awards he recieves. The other nominations for the Best Music Director category in the 55th Filmfare Awards were:

Best Movie

The movie “3 Idiots” won the Filmfare award for the Best Movie. Vidhu Vinod Chopra received the award for “3 Idiots” that has been highly successful in India. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, 3 Idiots, was produced by Vidhu Vindo Chopra. Amir Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi played the roles of the three idiots in the movie. The other movies that were nominated were:

The Bachchans did not attend the 55th Filmfare awards for some strange reason I dont know why. Wasn't Aishwarya Rai nominated for something? May be they were sure she would not win anything anyway :)
